HDMA INNOVATION FOR SUCCESS AWARDS PRESENTED AT THE 2008 BUSINESS PARTNERS EXCHANGE
Prestigious Industry Awards Honor Distributor Efficiencies, Creativity
and Leadership
Arlington, VA – March 18, 2008 – The Healthcare Distribution Management Association (HDMA) presented its 2008 Innovation for Success (IFS) Awards to distribution company leaders at the Business Partners Exchange, held in Palm Desert, CA. Winners of the prestigious HDMA IFS Awards demonstrate the value of distribution by developing creative and results-oriented programs and processes that benefit the healthcare supply chain, customers and consumers. The 2008 IFS Award winners are:
- Pharmaceutical Category—Sales of More Than $8 Billion: Diane McLean, Director, Supplier Processes, McKesson Corporation
- Pharmaceutical Category—Sales of Less Than $8 Billion: Dennis Harvey, Director, Information Technology, Burlington Drug Company, Inc.
“IFS Award winners set new standards of excellence by championing flexible and innovative processes that enhance efficiencies, improve customer services and demonstrate the power of successful trading partner relationships,” said HDMA President and CEO John M. Gray. “The 2008 IFS honorees implemented creative new technologies to improve the customer ordering experience, automate traditionally manual processes and enhance data sharing among trading partners. The paperless, customer-centric programs implemented by this year’s IFS winners improved information accuracy and timeliness, as well as the quality of trading partner communications.”
HDMA Associate manufacturer members nominate healthcare distributors for IFS Awards. The IFS program in 2008 consisted of two major product categories: 1) Distributors of pharmaceuticals, with sales of more than $8 billion a year and 2) distributors of pharmaceuticals, with sales of less than $8 billion a year.
