HDMA FOUNDATION HONORS HEALTHCARE INDUSTRY LEADER JACK FISH WITH NEXUS AWARD FOR LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT

ARLINGTON, VA — October 19, 2006 — The HDMA Foundation honored John (“Jack”) L. Fish, GlaxoSmithKline’s Vice President, Trade Sales and Operations, with the 2006 HDMA Research and Education Foundation and Wyeth NEXUS Award for Lifetime Achievement at the recent HDMA Annual Leadership Forum in Orlando Fla. The NEXUS Award is the industry’s highest honor, recognizing leadership, exemplary service and professional excellence in the healthcare industry and the community.

“With years of excellent service to his credit, I am pleased to recognize Jack for his many contributions to GlaxoSmithKline, the healthcare supply chain and to HDMA," said HDMA President and CEO John M. Gray. "Jack is highly respected among distributors, manufacturers and customers for his ability to build productive business relationships and seek innovative solutions to supply chain challenges. His commitment and tireless efforts on behalf of the healthcare industry make him a true colleague and leader.”

Fish began his career with GlaxoSmithKline more than 30 years ago, rising through various positions with the company sales force until assuming the job of Vice President, Trade Sales and Operations. Fish has also served as a leader at HDMA, including Co-Chairman of the Annual Meeting Planning Committee in 1999; Chairman of the HDMA Associate Member Board in 2003 and 2004; and as Co-Chairman of the HDMA Industry Relations Council from 2004 to 2006, where he continues to serve as an active member.

"I've worked in the healthcare business for thirty years," said Fish. "I am proud to work closely with supply chain partners to serve the patients that depend on GlaxoSmithKline medications. This is an important and rewarding industry and it is an exciting time to be part of it. To be recognized with this prestigious Award is a great honor."
