RFID CONFERENCE
TO HIGHLIGHT SUPPLY CHAIN SECURITY, IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGIES IN
HEALTHCARE
Alexandria, Va., March 17, 2005 –Radio frequency
identification (RFID) implementation strategies designed to improve
product security and enhance public safety will be explored at the
RFID Health Care Industry Adoption Summit, November 13-16, 2005, at
the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, VA. The Summit, co-sponsored
by The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) and the Healthcare
Distribution Management Association (HDMA), is the first ever educational
summit devoted to RFID implementation across the entire pharmaceutical
supply chain.
Specifically, the Summit will educate attendees on innovative RFID technologies that can be used to prevent incidents of product tampering as well as improve operational efficiencies.
“HDMA and its healthcare distributor members believe RFID is the best, most effective strategy for securing the pharmaceutical supply chain and for improving public safety,” stated HDMA President and CEO John Gray. “This important Summit will help supply chain stakeholders gain the education necessary to implement RFID-based solutions and to create the safest, most efficient and beneficial healthcare delivery system.”
In the meantime, we applaud the continued efforts of HHS to conduct
a comprehensive review of the issues and identification of the
concerns surrounding importation.”
The Summit will feature daily education and breakout sessions tailored to executives from each segment of the supply chain. In addition, during the Summit an exhibit floor will provide participants with direct access to vendors that distribute RFID technologies. Attendees will gain the latest insights on how to implement RFID solutions within their organizations.
“The Summit demonstrates the industry’s commitment to further the development and adoption of RFID technology to create a safe and secure pharmaceutical supply chain,” said Craig L. Fuller, president and CEO of NACDS. “There is tremendous support for the creation of products and services that will successfully increase the adoption and implementation of RFID.”
