AMERISOURCEBERGEN, PURDUE
PHARMA, VALUECENTRIC WIN IBUSINESS SOLUTION AWARDS AT HDMA’S 2005 DISTRIBUTION
MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE & EXPO
Arlington, Va., June 15, 2005 – Honoring the use of innovative technology
to streamline operations and improve business efficiencies, the Healthcare
Distribution Management Association (HDMA) presented its iBusiness Solution
Awards to AmerisourceBergen Corp., Purdue Pharma, L.P. and ValueCentric, LLC.
The Awards were presented today at the HDMA 2005 Distribution Management Conference & Expo
(DMC) in Orlando, Fla.
“These HDMA member companies have adopted sophisticated technology solutions
that enhance productivity, drive process improvements and create
additional value for customers,” said John M. Gray, HDMA President and CEO. “This
year’s iBusiness Solution Award winners are leading the way in business
innovation.”
In the distributor category, the iBusiness Solution Award was presented
to AmerisourceBergen Corporation for adopting new software technology to automate
management of contract and chargeback processes. Using the software, AmerisourceBergen
reports more efficient and accurate record tracking; improved productivity
and more efficient resource balancing; greater visibility into key performance
indicators; and reduced turnaround time for contract and chargeback reconciliations.
In the manufacturer category, Purdue Pharma L.P. was honored
with the iBusiness Solution Award for using RFID tags to track
individual product units through the supply chain. Using RFID tags, Purdue
Pharma has been able
to generate e-pedigrees for all tagged items, effectively improving
supply chain visibility. RFID technology also has improved efficiency,
allowing Purdue
and its trading partners to effectively “read” information
contained on RFID tags sealed in a densely-packed carton in less
than five
seconds.
In the affiliate category, ValueCentric, LLC won the iBusiness Solution
Award for its ValueTrak Application Service, a secure, hosted subscription
service for managing and monitoring the terms of business partner agreements.
The service utilizes electronic data interchange (EDI) transaction sets to
assess business partner performance as well as forecast future demand, monitor
sales, improve order management and dynamically report information to channel
partners.
