Nexus Award

At HDMA’s annual awards banquet, the Center for Healthcare Supply Chain Research and Genentech, Inc. presented the annual Nexus Award for Lifetime Achievement. This lifetime achievement award is the healthcare distribution industry’s highest recognition, honoring exceptional character, accomplishments and leadership in HDMA, the industry and the community.

This year, the Center and Genentech honored Michael Catanio, Director, Trade Relations at Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Catanio was honored for a career spanning more than three decades.  He has worked on the distribution and the manufacturing sides of the healthcare industry, with stops at Berlex Laboratories and Bergen Brunswig before coming to Bayer.

He was cited for his unique ability to make connections among trading partners and to relate to people at all levels of the distribution industry — whether through a dinner for regional distributors or developing a program to educate pharmacy students about the healthcare supply chain.
