HDMA Distribution Management Award
(formerly the Innovation for Success & iBusiness Awards)

Honoring Commitment to Continuous Business Process Improvement
in the Healthcare Supply Chain!

This new HDMA award recognizes HDMA member companies’ efforts to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the healthcare supply chain and enhance trading partner relationships.  The award highlights the implementation of new and innovative business process improvements and the latest best practices in technology, operations, category management, shoppers marketing, customer solutions and trade and promotional planning that significantly reduce costs, create new business opportunities, enhance services and positively affect product sales or marketing.

This honor is awarded to an HDMA member company or companies that have engaged in a joint trading partner initiative. Companies must have implemented the nominated business processes or solution in the last 12 months.

A panel of judges is selected from among HDMA distributor, manufacturer and service provider member companies represented on the Industry Relations Council and other HDMA committees.  Nominations are reviewed by the panel based on the criteria below and a slate of finalists is selected.  A final vote by the judges will determine the winner from among this slate.

Winners demonstrate the value of distribution by developing creative and results-oriented programs and processes that set the standard for excellence in the healthcare industry by benefiting the supply chain, customers and consumers.  Winners serve as a model for leadership and innovation in the healthcare marketplace, demonstrating the power of successful trading partner relationships. 

Special Recognition

HDMA formally honors DMA award winners at its annual Distribution Management Conference & Technology Expo. Winners receive the HDMA DMA trophy and:

  • Recognition in the HDMA Web site
  • A feature article in HDMA’s Weekly Digest e-newsletter, distributed to more than 5,000 healthcare industry contacts
  • Special mention in an HDMA press release sent to healthcare trade publications

Eligible recipients: 

  • All HDMA current members:  Distributors, Manufacturers and Service Providers
  • Companies may nominate other HDMA members or themselves
  • Nominations may recognize an individual internal company or joint trading partner initiative

Guidelines:
To be considered for this award, all entries submitted must include the following materials:

  • Completed official award entry form.  The entry form must be legible and filled out completely
  • Each nomination requires a separate nomination form

Criteria:             

  • Measurable productivity gains or efficiencies achieved
  • New or enhanced services to customers or trading partners
  • Measurable elimination or reduction in costs
  • Implementation of truly innovative processes, programs and procedures
  • Provision of customized support for healthcare products and/or promotional plans
  • Development of results-oriented policies or programs that achieve distribution, marketing or other business objectives
  • [For trading partner award, the results apply to the combined efforts of two or more trading partners delivering positive results to those involved] – support of trading partners with valued field market data, thereby allowing for improve marketing results

Judging Process:

  • HDMA will review all nominations
  • All eligible nominations will be sent to the judges for review
  • The judges will hold a conference call to discuss entries, and then submit forms ranking the nominations
  • HDMA senior staff reviews judges’ rankings to identify the top three entries
  • Winners are chosen by the judges.  The judges choose the winner from the three finalists
