James R. Kellso, P.E., Manager of Supply Network Research & Supply Chain Master, Intel
Intel’s Supply Chain Master, Jim Kellso, believes that innovation for the sake of innovation—while exciting—doesn’t necessarily solve real business problems. Intel’s “Directed Innovation” process is an art that allows them to determine the business issues that need innovative ideas, and directs resources to solve them in creative new ways.
Kellso will describe how he and his team attempt to examine the future to determine problems that will need to be solved in three to five years, work through theoretical and applied research activities and develop solutions that improve Intel’s and customers’ bottom lines. He’ll share how this process and the innovative results are leading to a highly responsive supply chain that is meeting aggressive goals to reduce cycle times,
decrease costs and improve customer responsiveness.
