Looking Forward in Reverse Logistics

Speaker Biographies

Linda Castanon
Pharmaceutical Distribution Warehouse Manager
US Oncology

Linda Castanon is the Pharmaceutical Distribution Warehouse Manager at US Oncology. US Oncology provides extensive services to its community-based cancer centers with 1,220 physicians operating in 490 locations in 39 states. Castanon is responsible for warehousing and distribution of an inventory of more than $60M. She also has six years of previous experience in pharmaceutical distribution, and also is a Certified Designated Representative for California and Florida. Castanon received her BA in Business Administration from Texas Lutheran University.

 

Joanne Cooper
Manager of Corporate Relations
AmeriCares Foundation

Joanne Cooper is Manager of Corporate Relations for AmeriCares,  an international relief organization whose passion to help is matched by an ability to deliver.  Whether it is  an epic disaster or a daily struggle, AmeriCares goes to extraordinary lengths to ensure that medicines, medical supplies and aid reaches individuals in need wherever they are, whenever they need it.  Cooper has been at AmeriCares since 2003 in the Corporate Relations Department, working with pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors to implement product donation programs.  In addition, she is the liaison between AmeriCares’ International Programs/Recipients and in-kind Donors to ensure that information and action flows as efficiently as possible.  Cooper has a Business degree from Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec.

 

Marjorie D. DePuy
Associate Director, Industry Relations
Healthcare Distribution Management Association

Marjorie DePuy is HDMA’s Associate Director of Industry Relations. She supports the work of the Returns Task Force, the e-Commerce Task Force and the Health & Beauty Care Advisory Committee, providing project management and educational program facilitation. Before joining HDMA, DePuy supported industry projects at Grocery Manufacturers Association, including business case development for technology initiatives, annual unsaleable product benchmarking and internal strategic planning. Previously, DePuy spent five years in project and account management for Xylem Interactive and DATA, Inc., with clients including Chipotle, Red Robin and the U.S. Air Force Academy. DePuy earned an MBA with distinction from the Keller Graduate School of Management and a BA from Hamilton College.

 

Ed Crimmins
Senior Director, Pharmaceutical Returns
Rite Aid Corporation

Ed Crimmins is the Senior Director of Pharmaceutical Returns for Rite Aid Corporation. During his ten years with Rite Aid, he has had responsibility for various aspects of reverse logistics and inventory management programs within the company. His current responsibilities include oversight of the pharmaceutical reverse logistics physical and financial process flow. He has 15 years of supply chain experience in distribution. Crimmins holds a degree from State University of New York at Albany.

   

Perry L. Fri
Senior Vice President, Industry Relations
Healthcare Distribution Management Association

Perry L. Fri is HDMA’s Senior Vice President of Industry Relations. In his current position, Fri is responsible for the direction, supervision and development of industry initiatives that facilitate improved business processes and operational efficiencies in the healthcare supply chain. Fri most recently served as Vice President of Industry Relations and Program Development for the Health Industry Distributors Association (HIDA). Prior to joining HIDA, Fri was a consultant for The Hale Group. He was also Vice President of Industry Alliances for Instill Corporation, and was the Director of Supply Chain Management for NWDA (now HDMA). Fri holds a BA in History from the University of Maryland.

   

Rex Hall
Returns Solutions Manager

Rex Hall is the Returns Solutions Manager for AmerisourceBergen. He as been with AmerisourceBergen for 20 years and has had several operational responsibilities, including Warehouse Manager, Operations Manager and Vice-President Distribution Center Manager. He obtained a BS iin Business Administration from Auburn University. 

   

Joe H. Harmison
President
Harmison Pharmacies

Joe Harmison currently serves as president of Harmison Pharmacies, an office and surgical center based practice specializing in pain management and ambulatory surgical center consulting; The Dispensory Corporation, ambulatory surgical center pharmacies; and DFW Prescriptions, Inc, an apothecary pharmacy. As an active member of the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), Harmison is Vice Chairman of the Steering Committee for National Government and Legislative Affairs, and on the Executive Committee of the NCPA National Political Action Committee. Additionally, he currently serves as an alternate to the Medical Advisory Committee of the Texas Worker Compensation Commission and on the Alumni Affairs Board of the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy Alumni Association. He graduated from the OU College of Pharmacy in 1970.

   

Susan Jackson
Director of Customer Operations
Specialty Pharmaceutical Services

Susan serves as the Director of Customer Operations for Cardinal Health, Inc. She is responsible for order management, customer service, accounts receivable, returns (physical and financial), chargeback processing and government reporting. Previously, she spent 23 years in health benefits and managed care in the insurance industry. She has a background in financial underwriting and all facets of insurance operations with Willis, an international insurance brokerage firm, and CNA, a multi-line insurance carrier.  Jackson received her BS in Education from James Madison University.

   

Jennifer Mauldin
Executive Vice-President
CLS MedTurn

Jennifer Mauldin is the Executive Vice-President of CLS MedTurn, the healthcare services division of CLS. She has been serving for more than 15 years, serving in various sales, service, operations and executive management positions. She also is currently the President of Carolina Services, offering a billing and reconciliation service for third party pharmacy receivables. Under Mauldin’s leadership, the CLS MedTurn One Touch Advantage Returns Service has grown to provide trading partners with a streamlined approach for processing returns. She has a BA in English from the University of Tennessee.

   

Daniel J. Raftery
President
Raftery Resource Network, Inc.

Dan Raftery is President of Raftery Resource Network, and has more than 20 years experience as a management and research consultant for the consumer drug, food and housewares industries. His assignments cover a range of topics from specific supply chain operations to strategic business and industry issues. Raftery has authored more than three-dozen industry reports on a variety of subjects—18 on the subject of returned goods. Raftery is a regular speaker at industry conferences and facilitates executive share groups and cross-functional action teams. His editorial columns and newsletters appear in several trade periodicals and are accessible on-line. Raftery also has 18 years of retail operations experience and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin.
   

Charlotte Smith
President
PharmEcology Associates, LLC

Charlotte Smith is President of PharmEcology Associates,  LLC, which she founded in 2000 to assist the healthcare industry in reducing and managing pharmaceutical waste. She co-founded Capital Returns, Inc., a nationally-known pharmaceutical returns management solutions provider in 1991, and for 10 years served as President and Chief Regulatory Advisor. Smith is a registered pharmacist who received her BS in Pharmacy and MS in Continuing and Vocational Education from the University of Wisconsin. She is a member of the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the American Society for Healthcare Environmental Services.

   

Bob Weston
Rx Customer Service & Logistics Manager
Procter & Gamble

Bob Weston is the Rx Customer Service/Logistics Manager for Procter & Gamble. Weston is responsible for managing warehousing, fulfillment, returns and transportation operations. Weston is a member of HDMA’s Logistics Operations Committee and has participated in several of the Association’s special projects. Weston has 33 years of experience in the healthcare industry in various disciplines, including manufacturing, human resources, initiatives management, operations planning and distribution.

   
Nadine You
Vice President, Corporate Operations
EXP Pharmaceutical Returns
 

Nadine You is  Vice President, Corporate Operations at EXP Pharmaceutical Services Corp., a leading nationwide provider of pharmaceutical reverse distribution and related services, and has been at EXP for more than 11 years.  In her current position she is responsible for all activities at the corporate headquarters and central order processing facility through the administration, operations, information technology and inside sales disciplines. She manages area and departmental directors, managers and supervisors in a two-shift operation. She oversees all public relations, including partner relationships and alliances with group purchasing organizations, independent delivery networks, pharmaceutical distributors and manufacturers. She also has coordinated efforts, leading the corporation through two facility relocations from significant ten-year business growth.
