Government & Public Policy Council

GPPC Mission:
The GPPC provides policy guidance and strategic direction to HDMA Board, committees and staff on legislative and regulatory issues affecting the healthcare distribution industry.

The mission is achieved by:

• Identifying issues affecting the business environment
• Evaluating legislative and regulatory initiatives
• Assisting in the formulation of HDMA positions on public policy issues
• Participating in coordinated advocacy efforts to legislators, regulators and allied organizations

Industry Relations Council

Mission:
The IRC is a strategically focused council providing leadership on healthcare distribution and supply chain issues. The mission statement is achieved by:

• Identifying business processes and technology strategies and solutions.
• Driving supply chain improvements across trading partners.
• Enhancing long-term business relationships between healthcare supply chain constituents.
• Evaluating emerging trends in the healthcare and distribution industries.
• Interacting with HDMA Staff and Committees to achieve HDMA’s mission.
• Providing guidance on legislative, regulatory, and state issues.
• Recommends policies, position statements affecting healthcare distribution issues to the Board.

HDMA Public Affairs Council

Mission
The HDMA Public Affairs Council is the strategic communications Council positioned at the center of the two leading HDMA Councils – The Government & Public Policy Council (GPPC) and the Industry Relations Council (IRC).  The mission of the Public Affairs Council (PA Council) is to strategically plan and position all HDMA external communications on behalf of its members, with emphasis on the news media and the court of public opinion.

Working in concert with the GPPC and the IRC, the Public Affairs Council will provide strategic intelligence, process guidance, issues management and communications counsel, relying on ethical “best practices” in public policy and industry communications.
