    HDMA Testimony in Support of Safeguarding America's Pharmaceuticals Act (H.R. 5839)

    "I am testifying on behalf of the Healthcare Distribution Management Association (HDMA), the national trade association representing primary pharmaceutical distributors.  HDMA’s member companies are responsible for storing, managing and delivering 80 percent of prescription medicines sold in the U.S.

    Today, I am here to express HDMA’s support for HR 5839, the “Safeguarding America’s Pharmaceuticals Act,” as introduced by Representatives Buyer and Matheson.

    This comprehensive bipartisan legislation would establish a uniform, national requirement for the tracking and tracing of prescription medicines from the manufacturer, through the distributor, to the pharmacy." Read more

    HDMA Applauds Congressmen Buyer (R-IN) and Matheson (D-UT) for Introducing Uniform Federal Pedigree Requirements to Further Enhance Patient Safety, Supply Chain Security

    The Healthcare Distribution Management Association (HDMA), the national association representing primary healthcare distributors, applauds U.S. Representatives Steve Buyer (R-IN) and Rep. Jim Matheson (D-UT) for introducing the Safeguarding America’s Pharmaceuticals Act of 2008 (HR 5839), comprehensive bipartisan legislation that would establish uniform, federal requirements for the tracking and tracing of prescription medicines from the manufacturer, to the distributor, to the pharmacy. Part of an overall strategy to help combat criminal counterfeiting, the legislation will strengthen current federal laws and regulations and further secure the nation’s prescription medicine supply. Read more

     

    HDMA Supports S. 980

    HDMA Supports Administration's Call to Combat Illegal Online Sales of Prescription Medicines

    The Healthcare Distribution Management Association (HDMA) supports the President's call for Congress and the Administration to work together to combat illegal online sales of prescription medicines.

    In support of ongoing efforts to help prevent the illegal online sale of prescription medicines, HDMA has formally endorsed the Online Pharmacy Consumer Protection Act (S. 980). Introduced by Senators Diane Feinstein (D-CA) and Jeff Sessions (R-AL), S. 980 would help address the growing problem of these illegal Internet pharmacies. Read more
